City Beach is located in Ranier, three miles east of International Falls on Highway 11.
You will find picnic tables, grills, swings, basketball courts and a large sandy beach
with a lifeguard on duty.
Northern Minnesota's most scenic bike trail begins in International Falls and ends
near the Rainhy Lake Visitor Center entrance in Voyageurs National Park.
The Falls Country Club, located next to scenic Rainy River, offers an 18-hole
championship golf course that is open to the public. The par-72 course, which
measures 6,632 yards from the back trees, winds through the beautiful pines and
aspen of Northern Minnesota and is laced with a series of streams that provide a
challenge to players of all skill levels. PGA Gold Professional, Pro Shop, restaurant,
bar, practice range and short game area. For tee times call (218) 283-4491.
The Orr Bogwalk is one of the region's nicest interpretive trails. A half-mile long
boardwalk loop takes visitors through all of the major wetland types in northern
Minnesota. Located directly behind the Orr Visitor Center, on Highway 53.
At a leisurely pace, this 3-mile trail can be easily hiked in 3 hours. The last
portion of the trail parallels the rugged landscape of sheer granite cliffs and
rock outcrops of the Vermillion River along the Vermillion Gorge.
A 10-minute hike on a well-maintained trail puts the visitor at Vermillion Falls, a
cascading torrent of water forced through a 10-foot-wide opening in the granite.
